Annual Downtown Marshalltown Art Walk Sept. 29th

Shopping local and supporting area artisans are the goals of the annual Downtown Marshalltown Art Walk, which will be held along Main Street on Friday, Sept. 29 from 5-7:30 p.m.

A total of 13 Central Iowa artists will showcase their works, each stationed at a different downtown business.

“It will start at the Orpheum and stretch to Black Tire Bike Company,” said Amber Danielson, who serves as the executive director of the Marshall County Arts & Culture Alliance. “The goal is to give people the opportunity to purchase art and drive traffic into our downtown businesses.”

Attendees will have the chance to shop for a variety of unique items.

“We will have photography, pastels, jewelry, fiber, mixed media and more represented,” said event co-chair Rheba Yost. “It’s a good opportunity to see what’s new for fall [in the stores] and get thinking ahead for holiday purchasing.”

The event is co-sponsored by the Marshall County Arts & Culture Alliance, the Marshalltown Central Business District, and the Marshalltown Convention & Visitors Bureau.
