‘Courage over Cancer’ theme for upcoming UnityPoint luncheon

UnityPoint Health — Marshalltown Foundation is taking registrations for its 6th Annual Breast Cancer Awareness Luncheon, 11 a.m. to 1 p.m., Oct. 5 at Elmwood Country Club.

“We are excited about this year’s luncheon,” said Judy Adland, Foundation board member and event chair. “The theme is ‘Courage over Cancer’ and Cindy Soderberg of Marshalltown will be sharing an uplifting, heartfelt message about her own experience surviving breast cancer. In addition to a special meal, we are pleased to offer items for silent auction. Reservations are going fast, so we encourage anyone interested to register now.”

Soderberg is a retired educator who continues to substitute teach for the Marshalltown Community School District.

Single registration is $25, or table of 8 is $200. Proceeds go to UnityPoint Health– Marshalltown Foundation’s Prevent program that reduces the impact of breast cancer on the lives of Central Iowans. The Foundation hosts two clinics annually for free screening mammograms in April and August and continues to provide diagnostic mammograms for women who cannot afford them.
