On a cold January day, nothing is quite as delicious and comforting as a bowl of homemade soup.

With that in mind, members of the local chapter of the American Legion Riders will serve a variety of soups this Friday, Jan. 19 at Post 46 headquarters, 1301 S. 6th St.

Various soups, homemade rolls and desserts will be served, beginning at 5 p.m., followed by Bingo at 6 p.m.

Free will donations will be collected with all proceeds going toward veteran-related activities and programs.

A raffle for a cribbage board will be held following the meal, and ticket sales for a Samsung Tablet raffle will get under way (Table winner will be drawn at the Riders’ Feb. 16 meal).

The event is open to the public.
