T-R FILE PHOTO The sixth annual T-R Home & Garden Show will take place on Saturday, April 7 from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. at the Marshalltown Mall. It will offer a one-stop experience for all things related to the care and upkeep of your home and property.

Now in its sixth year, the Times-Republican Home & Garden Show, held Saturday, April 7, from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. at the Marshalltown Mall, will offer a one-stop experience for all things related to the care and upkeep of your home and property.

A variety of vendors, some new this year, will be on hand to provide resources pertaining to the following: solar energy, bathroom remodeling, carpet/flooring, countertops, pest control, concrete repair, insulation, mattresses, real estate, and more.

“We are looking forward to another successful and fun show for attendees to visit with vendor professionals about their home and garden projects,” said T-R Assistant Marketing Director Deanna Davis-McGowan.

A free, family-friendly event, the show will offer activities aimed at children. From 10 a.m. to 3 p.m, members of the Marshalltown Police Department will be on hand with patrol bikes, and available for photos. From noon to 3 p.m., firefighters from the Marshalltown Fire Department, as well as Smokey the Bear, will offer fire safety tips, and another opportunity for photos. Youngsters will also be able to have their photo taken with Superhero characters.

A Super Hero Saturday coloring contest will offer prizes. Register to win a pool party at the Marshalltown YMCA-YWCA, and for the chance to win $50 Fareway giftcards.

T-R marketing rep Jane Engel will be present to assist children with planting plants in which they will be able to take home, courtesy of Isle of Green.

“It’s so much fun. You won’t want to miss this event at the Marshalltown Mall,” Davis-McGowan said.
