Free summer meals schedule for all area children

Free meals provided by Marshalltown Schools food service staff will be available at various locations in town throughout the summer months.

Along with the district’s six elementary school buildings, Lenihan Intermediate School and Marshalltown High School, the Marshalltown YMCA-YWCA, Marshalltown Public Library and the Salvation Army building will host free meals.

The schedule is as follows, according to district information:

•June 6-Aug. 10: Breakfast served 8-8:30 a.m. and lunch 11:15 a.m. to 12:15 p.m. at Lenihan Intermediate School; lunch served at the Salvation Army building, 107 W. State St., from 11 a.m. to noon; lunch served at the Marshalltown YMCA-YWCA 11:15 a.m. to 12:30 p.m.; lunch served 11 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. on Wednesdays and Thursdays at the Marshalltown Public Library.

•June 11-July 27: Breakfast served 8-8:30 a.m. and lunch 11:15 a.m. to 12:15 p.m. at Franklin, Rogers and Woodbury elementary schools.

•June 11-July 29: Breakfast served 8-8:30 a.m. and lunch 11:15 a.m. to 12:15 p.m. at Marshalltown High School.

•July 16-Aug. 10: Breakfast served 8-8:30 a.m. and lunch 11:15 a.m. to 12:15 p.m. at Anson, Hoglan and Franklin elementary schools.

No meals will be provided on July 4 due to the holiday. For more information on the district’s free summer meals program, call food service at 641-754-1185
