A local man wanted for probation violation was arrested by Marshalltown police earlier this week after he attempted to elude officers.

Deonta Doncel Brown, Jr. was seen riding a bicycle in the 1200 block of East Nevada Street by an officer who recognized him as being wanted individual, Capt. Brian Batterson of the MPD said. The officer attempted to stop Brown. The defendant did not stop and later ditched the bicycle and attempted to elude on foot. He was captured shortly thereafter, and charged with interference with official acts. He was then transported to Marshall County Jail, where he remains on $5,000 cash-only bond.
