Man arrested on warrant resulting from meth possession
A Burlington man is in Marshall County Jail after he was arrested earlier in the week on a warrant stemming from an incident investigated in June by the Marshalltown Police Department.
Daniel Joseph Fritzjunker, 32, was charged with possession of methamphetamine with the intent to manufacture or deliver, a Class B felony, failure to affix drug stamp and criminal mischief second degree, both Class D felonies, according to criminal complaints and affidavits filed in Marshall County District Court.
A Marshalltown police officer reported in the complaint he had been dispatched to a local motel on June 15 on a report the room had been vandalized. Upon further investigation it was determined the defendant had damaged fixtures and furniture in the room and had tied the room’s door shut with a bed sheet which prevented motel staff from entering. The defendant had exited the room by cutting a hole in a window screen. A check of the room by MPD revealed the defendant had left three baggies containing 9.7 grams of methamphetamine. Motel officials determined damage to be $1,220. Fritzjunker is being held without bond.
His preliminary hearing is Nov. 5
