A Marshalltown man threatened to kill his wife and children with a gun Friday, according to a criminal complaint and affidavit filed in Marshall County District Court.

Ta Toe, 45, was charged with four criminal counts by Marshalltown police including three counts of harassment in first degree, after they responded to an incident in the 1200 block of Marshall Drive.

The defendant has pointed a firearm at the victims in the past and threatened to kill them, according to the criminal complaint. One of the harassment first degree counts is a forcible felony. Toe was taken to Marshall County Jail. At his initial appearance, a magistrate issued a no contact order, meaning the defendant can not contact the victims. He was also appointed a public defender. The defendant’s preliminary hearing is Dec. 24.
