Local woman charged third time for domestic abuse
A Marshalltown woman, Kisha Catherine Kutzner, 41, was arrested for domestic abuse assault third or subsequent offense, according to a criminal complaint and affidavit filed in Marshall County District Court.
Police were called to an apartment in the 400 block of West Main Street at approximately 1 a.m. Thursday on reports from a tenant of an argument occurring in one of the units, Capt. Brian Batterson of the MPD said.
“Upon investigation it was determined the defendant assaulted her father,” Batterson said. The victim did not require medical attention, Batterson said. The defendant was taken into custody and later transported to Marshall County Jail.
Domestic abuse third offense is a Class D felony. Prior domestic abuse charges were filed Oct. 23 of this year and Sept. 9, 2011, according to the criminal complaint.
At her initial appearance Thursday, a magistrate issued a no contact order against Kutzner, meaning she can not contact the victim. The magistrate also granted her request for a public defender.
Her preliminary hearing is Dec. 14. Bond was set $5,000 cash or surety.
