A funeral mass for missing teen Corey Brown will be celebrated at 10:30 a.m. Saturday at St. Henry’s Catholic Church in Marshalltown, according to Mitchell Family Funeral Home.

Corey, 13, was found dead Sunday in a secluded area on the west side of Marshalltown. He had been missing since Jan. 22. During the search and upon finding him, investigators said there did not appear to be suspicious activity.

Corey’s parents reported him missing Jan. 23 when they woke up and found he was not in his bedroom. Security footage showed that he left the house about 11 p.m. Jan. 22 during a winter weather advisory. He did not have his cell phone with him.

Visitation will be held from 4 p.m. to 7 p.m. on Friday at the church. A 7 p.m. vigil service will be held at the church. Family and friends will have an opprtunity to share memories at this time. Visitation with his parents will follow the vigil service as well.
