Arrest made after domestic abuse call

Marshalltown Police responded to a domestic violence call on South First Avenue earlier this week that led to the arrest of a Marshalltown man.

De’Andre Antonio Davis, 20, was charged with domestic abuse assault and child endangerment.

Marshalltown Police Capt. Brian Batterson said police got a call regarding a domestic abuse incident about 7:30 p.m. Wednesday. The victim said the incident happened some time earlier, but called police after Davis was out of the residence.

After a typical household argument, the victim said Davis grabbed her by the neck, forced her against a wall and then struck her a few times in the face. Davis left the residence shortly after the incident and was found by police outside the residence in a vehicle, Batterson said.

Davis is being held on $5,000 cash only bond, according to police report earlier this week. His preliminary hearing is set for 1 p.m. March 22.
