Efforts continue to restore the iconic Marshall County Courthouse while to the south local Hay Construction workers build the Thompson True Value Hardware on Linn Street. Both projects reflect the significant investment made by local elected officials and businesses to help Marshalltown rebound post-tornado. True Value owners David and Kathy Thompson are hoping to open their new store on or about May 1, while Marshall County officials are targeting a fall opening for the courthouse. Courthouse repair costs will exceed $15.5 million, according to county officials.
