Pictured is Marshalltown Blue Wave Swimmer Maisie Gummert who placed fourth in the 200 yard freestyle with a time of 2:34.77 - shaving nearly six seconds off her seed time of 2:40.50.

T-R PHOTO BY SARA JORDAN-HEINTZ - For the 16th year in a row, the Marshalltown YMCA-YWCA has sponsored the Y State Swimming Championship, held all day Saturday and Sunday. A total of 435 girls competed on Saturday and 421 boys will compete on Sunday. Twenty-six total swimmers represented Marshalltown. Saturday’s event kicked off with a Parade of Athletes. The Marshalltown Blue Wave’s theme was Red Carpet.
