Man jailed on felony robbery charges

Dunston

A Liscomb man was arrested by Marshalltown police and taken to Marshall County Jail on a felony charge of robbery in the second degree, according to a criminal complaint and affidavit filed recently in Marshall County District Court. Phillip Randell Dunston, 19, threatened the victim when demanding he give him property during an incident in the 1700 block of Edgebrook Drive. The victim believed he was being robbed as the defendant was demanding the victim’s phone while reaching into his pocket according to the complaint. When officers made contact with the defendant a knife was found in the same pocket he was reaching for at the time of the incident. The defendant faces additional charges of possession of drug paraphernalia and interference with official acts. At his initial appearance, a magistrate ordered him held on bond of $10,000 cash or surety. Additionally he appointed the defendant a public defender. His preliminary hearing is April 12.
