Arrest made after shooting in Marshalltown

Marshalltown Police have announced an arrest in a shooting incident that took place early Sunday morning.

Trevion Devante Hardin, 22, was charged with several counts, including attempt to commit murder, willful injury, intimidation with a dangerous weapon, reckless use of a firearm and going armed with intent, all of which are felonies under Iowa law.

The shooting took place in the 400 block of Melody Lane around 3:48 a.m. Sunday, according to police.

Three adults with gunshot wounds were taken to UnityPoint Health – Marshalltown, according to a statement from Marshalltown Police. Two of these victims have since been transported to medical facilities in Des Moines.

Marshalltown Police Chief Mike Tupper said there is no impending danger to the public. Names of victims will not be released until next of kin are notified.

The investigation of this incident is ongoing. Police report Hardin was booked into the Marshall County Jail Sunday afternoon.

Information leading to an arrest could earn a reward of up to $1,000.

The Marshall County Sheriff’s Office and the Iowa Division of Criminal Investigation are assisting the Marshalltown Police Department with this investigation.
