Friday afternoon, about 200 people walked the mile and a half between St. Francis Catholic School to St. Mary Catholic Church carrying a large wooden cross in honor of Good Friday. Students participated in a Good Friday Retreat at the school, which culminated in the walk, wherein the Stations of the Cross were read, followed by Mass at St. Mary’s. In the Christian faith, Good Friday is the day in which the Crucification of Jesus Christ is commemorated. It is often a day of fasting and penance.
