Greer thanked Richardson profusely, saying the store was a critical part of the area’s rebuilding following the July 19 tornado and the donation would help the fundraising committee match other grants. The original store was destroyed by the tornado and Casey’s officials rebuilt on the same location. Additionally, they purchased two extensively-damaged properties adjoining the store to the east, demolished them and installed another parking lot to improve store efficiency. The check presentation ceremony was moved inside due to rain and wind.
