Lennox Foundation donates $150,000 to Rebuild Marshalltown Fund

The Community Foundation of Marshall County announced they have received a $150,000 donation from the Lennox Foundation for their Rebuild Marshalltown Fund.

The purpose of the fund is to support long-term recovery and rebuilding efforts in Marshalltown due to the July 2018 tornado.

“Last week the Community Foundation announced the first Rebuild Marshalltown grants to the Veterans Memorial Coliseum and Habitat for Humanity of Iowa. After many months of research and development, the Rebuild Marshalltown Committee set forth clear processes for grant applications, the evaluation of grant proposals and the distributions of grant funds,” Community Foundation Executive Director Julie Hitchins said. “The Veterans Memorial Coliseum and Habitat for Humanity were the first of many to come. However, donations such as the Lennox Foundation will help us continue to fulfill the intention of the fund through impactful grants.”

“On behalf of the Community Foundation of Marshall County Rebuild Marshalltown Fund we would like to thank the Lennox Foundation for their donation. The needs of our community are expansive and will extend over the next three to five years. This donation will serve to replenish the funds that were recently granted,” fund co-chairs Heidi Dalal and Steve Troskey said.

Contributions to the Rebuild Marshalltown Fund can be made online at www.cfmarshallco.org/rebuild-marshalltown-fund/ or checks can be mailed to the Community Foundation of Marshall County, 11 N. First Ave., Marshalltown, Iowa, 50158.
