Man arrested for burglary

Marshalltown police took a local man into custody recently on burglary third degree charges – an aggravated misdemeanor.

Douglas Lee Davis, 25, allegedly entered an unoccupied vehicle belonging to a local construction company and stole an electric grease gun, according to a police report. He was also charged with possession of burglars tools and theft in the fourth degree, according to criminal complaints and affidavits filed in Marshall County District Court. The defendant was taken to Marshall County Jail where he was being held on $5,000 cash/surety bond. At the defendant’s initial hearing a magistrate appointed Davis a public defender. His preliminary hearing is May 13.
