Man arrested for burglary
The Marshall County Sheriff’s Office recently took into custody an Ames man on four felony charges. Justin Carroll Deal, 39, was arrested and taken to the Marshall County Jail for ongoing criminal conduct, a class B felony, theft in the first degree, a class C felony, theft in the second degree, a class D felony, burglary a Class D felony and possession of burglary tools, an aggravated misdemeanor. The charges result from the defendant burglarizing a business, being in possession of stolen property, and motor vehicle thefts, according to criminal complaints and affidavits filed in Marshall County District Court. The defendant is being held in jail on $25,000 cash only bond. A magistrate appointed the defendant a public defender at an initial appearance Thursday. His preliminary hearing is June 14.
