Man arrested for burglary
The Marshalltown Police Department arrested a local man on a warrant June 15 for burglary second degree after he entered an occupied structure when he had no right to do so, according to a criminal complaint and affidavit filed in Marshall County District Court.
James Allen Lambert, 46, was warned not to enter the property in the 900 block of Iowa Avenue West but ignored the warning, said Capt. Brian Batterson of the MPD.
The defendant was later taken to Marshall County Jail. Lambert is being held on $10,000 cash or surety bond. At his initial appearance, a magistrate appointed the defendant a public defender and also issued a no contact order to protect the victim.
The defendant was previously adjudged guilty of theft in the fourth and fifth degree, according to court documents. Lambert’s preliminary hearing is June 25.
