Marshalltown Police investigating drive-by shooting

The Marshalltown Police Department have detained two suspects after an early morning drive-by shooting Thursday.

Jeremy Lavender, 33, of Marshalltown and Stevie Lavender, 30, of Marshalltown both face charges from the incident. A caller reported that a subject had driven by him in a vehicle and shot at him with a pistol in the 300 block of North Fourth Avenue, according to Marshalltown Police. No injuries were reported.

Both suspects are in Marshall County Jail.

Officers located evidence of the offense at the scene and located the suspect vehicle at the suspect’s residence. A subsequent search warrant was conducted and additional evidence was located.

Jeremy Lavender faces charges of:

Attempted Murder, Class B Felony

Going Armed With Intent, Class D Felony

Reckless Use Of A Firearm, Simple Misdemeanor

Dominion or Control Of A Firearm By A Felon, Class D Felony

4 Counts Of Child Endangerment, Aggravated Misdemeanors

Possession Of Drug Paraphernalia, Simple Misdemeanor

Stevie Lavender faces charges of:

4 Counts Of Child Endangerment, Aggravated Misdemeanors

Accessory After The Fact, Aggravated Misdemeanor

Interference With Official Acts, Simple Misdemeanor

Jeremy Lavender has been charged for a variety of crimes dating back to 2005 including robbery, domestic abuse and drug charges, court records show.
