Flaca was surrendered to the Animal Rescue League of Marshalltown along with two other dobermans because their former owners could no longer care for them. She has been with the Animal Rescue League since June 26, 2019.

Flaca is a 3-year-old female doberman and weighs 65 pounds, which means she is no small dog. Flaca has no known health problems.

Courtney Petersen, a staff member at the Animal Rescue League of Marshalltown, said Flaca is very friendly and gets along well with everyone. Peterson said Flaca does well with other dogs and was in a previous home with small children so it is assumed Flaca does well with kids as well.

“Flaca was previously an only outdoor dog so she loves to be outside and run around and play,” Peterson said. Peterson also said that Flaca is doing well inside now and can be easily molded to either lifestyle.

Peterson said flaca is very playful but has a gentle spirit and will get along with anyone.

According to her information card, Flaca is very timid and nervous at first but she is looking for a patient family that will let her true personality come out. Due to being a primarily outdoor dog before, Flaca has little training and does not know commands like “sit” or “stay” but is a great learner and can be molded easily due to her age.

“I really do think she would do well anywhere,” Peterson said. “Flaca would be great with a family or single person, she just needs a loving and caring home.”

The adoption fee for Flaca is $125. Those interested in giving Flaca a forever home can pick up an adoption application at the front desk. A downloadable copy of the application is also available at www.arlmarshalltown.co
