Local man sentenced to eight years in prison

Inman

Dustin Allen Inman, 50, of Marshalltown was sentenced to serve up to eight years in prison after pleading guilty to multiple charges of child endangerment.

District Court Judge Bethany Currie passed sentence on Inman Monday in Marshalltown to two years each of the four counts of child endangerment.

As part of a plea arrangement in exchange for his guilty pleas, two counts of child endangerment causing bodily injury, a felony, were amended to misdemeanors and a number of other child abuse and neglect charges were dismissed.

He will be given credit for time served.

The Times-Republican reported earlier this year Inman had been charged with two counts of disseminating and exhibition of obscene material to minors; two counts of assault; two counts of child endangerment; two counts of child endangerment causing bodily injury; one count of indecent contact with a child; and one count of neglect or abandonment of a dependent person, according to criminal complaints.
