Marshall County Supervisors hire new Planning & Zoning Administrator
Todd Apfel on Wednesday was named the Marshall County Planning & Zoning Administrator and Public Environmental Health and Weed Commissioner
Apfel received the new titles from the Marshall County Board of Supervisors on a 3-0 vote during a special meeting.
He replaces John Kunc who died July 14.
Apfel, of Vining, will begin work Oct. 15 and will be paid $30,000 for 22.5 hours weekly. As a part-time employee, Apfel will qualify for Iowa Public Employee Retirement System and vacation but not paid holidays.
Apfel is also Planning & Zoning Administrator in Tama County. Consequently, all training and certification expenses will be billed one-half to Marshall County and one-half to Tama County.
The next regular session is 9 a.m. Oct. 15. All business to be acted upon at that session should be submitted to the County Auditor and Recorder’s office or Board of Supervisors Office by 1 p.m. Oct. 10
