Officer Rod Whitmore receives city service award
Marshalltown Police Department officer Rod Whitmore, left, accepts a plaque from Chief of Police Mike Tupper at Monday’s city council meeting. The plaque acknowledged Whitmore’s 30 years of service to the department. Tupper cited Whitmore’s skills as a policeman and value to the department.
“I have gotten to know Rod the last eight years, and I appreciate everything he does for us,” Tupper said. “He is in his fourth year serving as the Marshalltown High School Resource Officer. He does a great job … the school district is pleased with his work. It is an important role for us. It is not for every police officer.
