Man charged with intent to deliver meth
Mark Anthony Soad, 56, of Davenport was arrested by a Marshall County Sheriff’s Office deputy in Le Grand Monday and taken to jail on a possession of methamphetamine with intent to deliver, a Class B felony.
Soad had a white crystal substance in his possession which field-tested positively for methamphetamine. The amount of methamphetamine was more than five grams but not more than 5 kilograms. Five grams is equivalent to one teaspoon.
Soad was also charged with possession of marijuana, operating a vehicle while intoxicated, possession of drug paraphernalia, fraudulent use of registration and no driver’s license.
At his initial appearance Tuesday, a magistrate judge ordered him held on $50,000 cash or surety bond while appointing him a public defender.
His preliminary hearing is Dec. 13.
