AGENDA ITEM: Resolution to approve the facade grant application for Doo Dah’s Cafe,
128 E. Main St.
THE ISSUE: Owners have applied for funds from locally funded and managed building improvement program.
WHAT’S NEXT: Council reviews recommendation from Central Business District volunteer steering committee, discuss and vote. Simple majority carries.
AGENDA ITEM: Resolution approving contract change order for High Street drainage improvements, a decrease of $28,333.50.
THE ISSUE: Project necessary to reduce amount of water flowing down to site of new Marshalltown Police Department/Fire Department facility at 909 S. Second St.
WHAT’S NEXT: Part of consent agenda. However, a councilor may request item be removed for separate discussion.
AGENDA ITEM: Review of responses to auction former MFD headquarters, 109 S. First Ave.
THE ISSUE: Council previously directed City Administrator Jessica Kinser to develop Request for Proposal to area auction companies to get highest, most responsible bid for lot and building. Several individuals and non-profits have expressed interest in purchasing same.
WHAT’S NEXT: Council to review responses. May want more information from Kinser.
If satisfied, council may vote to select auction company.
