Stephanie Renee Price, 36, of New Providence, was arrested by a Marshall County Sheriff’s Office deputy Thursday and taken to jail on a child endangerment-bodily injury charge. Price allegedly threw her child against a couch, resulting in the child falling backwards. This caused injury to the child’s wrist and bruising on her legs. At her initial appearance Friday, a magistrate ordered her held on $5,000 bond

The magistrate also appointed a public defender to represent Price, and issued a no contact order to protect the victim.

Price later posted bond and was released.

A Class D felony carries a maximum prison term not to exceed five years which may be suspended unless forcible felony. A fine of $750 but not no more than $7,500 may be imposed.

Her preliminary hearing is Jan. 30.
