Grimes Farm and Conservation to host photo contest awards and chili supper

CONTRIBUTED PHOTO Photos and hot food are sure to bring people together at Grimes Farm. It its 19th year, the photo contest will feature five categories.

At Grimes Farm and Conservation Center, it has always been a priority to encourage people to get out into nature. The annual photo contest is just one way the center achieves this goal.

The 19th annual photo contest awards and chili supper is from 6 p.m. to 7 p.m. Tuesday at 2349 233rd St.

Not only will attendees get to see this year’s 62 entries, but they will receive a bowl of chili with the purchase of a ticket.

Awards will be given for first place in each category:

• Natural wildlife

• Natural plants

• Scenic

• Outdoor recreational

• Youth

For those interested in participating in next year’s contest, Mike Stegmann of Grimes Farm and Conservation said the new rules have not been made yet.

“Those will probably be announced later in March,” he said.
