COVID-19 Postponements and cancellations

• Starting Thursday, the Mid-Iowa Community Action development center on Second Street will be closed until further notice. Families can access services by calling 515-956-3333. MICA will still provide assistance for energy and crisis and other services remotely.

• The April 2 Citizen of the Year Roast, sponsored by the Optimist Club, has been postponed.

• The March 28 auction set for the old Marshalltown Fire Station is postponed until further notice.

• The Community Foundation of Marshall County Grant Award Ceremony scheduled for March 24 is canceled.

• The Marshall County Pachyderm Herd will not meet until further notice.

• Trinity Lutheran Church in Marshalltown is closed until April 1. Facebook and email services are available.

• The Marshalltown and Toledo Pinnacle Bank lobbies are closed. Drive-up and loan services are available.

• The March 28 garden party scheduled for CAPS – Child Abuse Prevention Services – is canceled.

• The Marshalltown Parks and Recreation Department has canceled all programs and building rentals until further notice.

• Le Grand City Hall will be closed until further notice.

• All GNB bank, insurance, investment and real estate lobbies, including the Marshalltown location, are closed. Drive-throughs, ATMs and night deposits will remain open

• The Nature Center at Grimes Farm is closed until further notice. Any events scheduled for this week have been canceled. The parks will remain open.

• The city of Grundy Center has closed the City Hall, Kling Memorial Library, Community Center, fire and ambulance station and upper elementary building. The latter will be open for YMCA Child Care and Tri-County Headstart.

• The Big Brothers Big Sisters Bowl for Kids Sake scheduled for Saturday and March 28 has been postponed. Makeup days to be announced.

• The Easter Egg Hunt in Conrad scheduled for April 4 is canceled.

• The April 25 ABC garage sales in Conrad are canceled.

• The April 1 Highway 30 Corridor Career Fair at Marshalltown Community College has been canceled.

• The April 8 presentation by Mark Perna at the Marshalltown High School has been postponed.

• The Women in Business Luncheon scheduled for March 26 is postponed.

• The Marshalltown Chamber of Commerce has canceled the following events with the possibility of rescheduling at a later date — the March Business After Hours at Dave Wright on Thursday and the April Business After Hours at PCA on April 21.

• The Iowa Valley Leadership class’s Trivia Night on April 2 is canceled.

• The Senior Citizens Center will be closed until further notice.

• The Northwest Iowa Area Agency on Aging will close all of the senior center and meal sites until further notice.

• The Marshall County Iowa State University Extension and Outreach has postponed the Thursday succulents workshop in Marshalltown and the seed starting sessions at the Albion Municipal Library on March 23 and at the Gutekunst Library in State Center on April 2. Also, the Junior Master Gardeners sessions on March 24 and March 31 have been canceled. The Extension legislative trip on March 25 is also canceled.

• Terence Simien & The Zydeco Experience scheduled for Friday at the Orpheum Theater has been canceled.

• The Friday American Legion Riders supper is canceled.

• The St. Francis of Assisi church rummage sale at the St. Mary church scheduled for March 27 and March 28 is canceled.

• All children’s programming and yoga programming is canceled at Gutekunst Public Library in State Center.

• The Conrad Public Library is closed until further notice.

• Weekly Rotary meetings have been canceled for the next four weeks.

• Rentals at the Orpheum have been canceled until further notice.

• International Dairy Queen has postponed Free Cone Day which was scheduled for Thursday.A new date has yet to be determined.

• The Marshalltown Police Department has postponed the citizen academy for eight weeks.

• The YMCA-YWCA is closed through March 21.

• The Marshalltown Public Library is closed through March 22.
