Veterans in need of financial help right now can look to the American Legion.

The Marshalltown American Legion Post has a veterans assistance fund available for former service members in need.

Randy Kessler, American Legion Post 46 commander, wants veterans who are struggling to get a hold of the Legion.

“We’ll see if we can help,” Kessler said.

The Legion has a Dave’s Coffee Cake sale going on to help fund the account.

“The money from that is going into the Veterans Assistance fund.

The Legion doesn’t have a flier, but if veterans need help they have it available.

“When we find a veteran that needs something we can help them a little,” Kessler said.
