Marshall County has 44 cases of COVID-19

DES MOINES — Marshall County has 44 cases of COVID-19 as two more were confirmed on Wednesday.

The age group of 18-40 have the highest number of 20 cases in Marshall County; followed by 41-60 with 18; and six cases in the 61-80 age group.

The Iowa Department of Public Health (IDPH) confirmed on Wednesday 94 other cases throughout the state for a total of 1,995. Of those, 171 are hospitalized. There are 43 cases on ventilators and 78 in intensive care units throughout the state.

On Wednesday, four more deaths were confirmed, for a total of 53 fatalities.

The four deaths were reported:

• Allamakee County, 1 older adult (61-80 years)

• Clayton County, 1 elderly adult (81 and older) 

• Johnson County, 1 older adult (61-80 years)

• Polk County, 1 elderly adult (81 and older)

There have been 17,874 negative tests to date.

The state of Iowa has released an updated dashboard on coronavirus.iowa.gov that will be updated daily to include comprehensive tracking of COVID-19 in Iowa. The new dashboard includes cases, deaths, and tests conducted in each county. The state is now providing demographic information that was not previously provided as well as Iowa’s epidemiological curve. The dashboard can now be found on coronavirus.iowa.gov.
