No new cases in Marshall County

DES MOINES, Iowa — No new cases of COVID-19 were confirmed in Marshall County on Thursday. The number of county cases remains at 239.

Marshall County Public Health Nurse Pat Thompson said the state numbers are not up to date. The state website is updated every day with numbers from counties.

The Iowa Department of Public Health did confirm 176 new cases throughout the state and six additional deaths.

The total number of cases in Iowa is 3,924, of which 1,492 have recovered, and there have been 96 deaths. No COVID-19 deaths have been reported in Marshall County.

A long-term care facility – ManorCare Health Services in Linn County – had an outbreak of seven cases. There have been outbreaks at 12 long-term care facilities in Iowa.

There are 282 hospitalized Iowans with the virus. Of those, 102 are in intensive care units and 55 on ventilators.

There have been 29,262 tests conducted.

Marshall County is in Regional Medical Coordination Centers Region 1. Other counties in Region 1 are Adair, Appanoose, Boone, Carroll, Clark, Dallas, Davis, Decatur, Greene, Guthrie, Jasper, Lucas, Madison, Mahaska, Marion, Monroe, Polk, Poweshiek, Ringgold, Story, Tama, Union, Warren and Wayne.

In Region 1, there are 85 hospitalized COVID-19 patients. Of those, 22 are in intensive care units and 13 are on ventilators.
