Tama National Beef employee tests positive

An employee at the National Beef facility in Tama tested positive for COVID-19 on Thursday.

The employee is in self-quarantine at home for the required amount of time needed for a full recovery.

The company is in contact with the Iowa Department of Public Health to ensure appropriate steps are taken to address the employee needs, customers and community.

National Beef is proceeding under the guidance of health care providers and authorities in determining the employee’s recent movements. Employees who were exposed to this person will be notified and will take appropriate precautions needed.

A full sanitation and disinfection of the facility was performed, including the employee’s primary workstation and employee common areas.

National Beef notified employees at the facility, and through special emergency response pay and benefits, are requiring employees who don’t feel well to stay home.
