Marshall County has 884 COVID-19 cases

As of Thursday, there are 884 confirmed cases of COVID-19 in Marshall County, a rise of five cases since Wednesday. Of the total, 504 Marshall County residents have recovered.

Marshall County is in the top five counties with the highest COVID-19 cases. The others are Polk with 3,925; Woodbury, 2,671; Black Hawk, 1,722; and Linn, 941.

Across the state, there have been 18,573 positive cases. Of those, 10, 313 have recovered. The case numbers on the Iowa Department of Public Health COVID-19 website are updated throughout the day.

There are 383 Iowans hospitalized with the virus. Of those, 112 are in intensive care units and 67 are on ventilators.

Marshall County has two recorded outbreaks in long-term care facilities. The Iowa Veterans Home has had 32 positive cases of COVID-19, with 16 recovered and Accura HealthCare of Marshalltown has had 49 cases, with eight recovered.

Hospital activity is displayed by regions on the Iowa Department of Pubic Health website, coronavirus.iowa.gov. Marshall County is in Regional Medical Coordination Center Region 1, which has 151 hospitalized patients. Of those, 28 are in intensive care units and 18 are on ventilators.

There have been 15 COVID-19 deaths in Marshall County and 504 statewide.

There have been143,351 tests conducted. Across the state, 554,068 Test Iowa assessments have been conducted – 1,985 in Marshall County.
