Four new cases confirmed in Marshall County

Four new cases of COVID-19 were confirmed in Marshall County on Tuesday, bringing the total to 978. The number of recovered cases in the county increased to 593, a rise of three since Wednesday.

Marshall County is in the top seven counties with the highest COVID-19 cases. The others are Polk with 5,562; Woodbury, 3,077; Black Hawk, 1,900; Buena Vista, 1,669; Linn, 1,105; and Dallas, 1,081.

Across the state, there have been 26,353 positive cases, a rise of 306 since Monday. Of the total, 15,453 have recovered. The case numbers on the Iowa Department of Public Health COVID-19 website are updated throughout the day.

The number of Iowans with COVID-19 in the hospital continue to decrease. There are 163 Iowans hospitalized with the virus. Of Tuesday’s total, 47 are in intensive care units and 26 are on ventilators.

Hospital activity is displayed by regions on the Iowa Department of Pubic Health website, coronavirus.iowa.gov. Marshall County is in Regional Medical Coordination Center Region 1, which has 67 hospitalized patients. Of the total hospitalized in Region 1, 19 are in intensive care units and 12 are on ventilators.

There have been 18 COVID-19 deaths in Marshall County and 688 statewide.

Across the state, 264,278 tests have been conducted. Plus, 736,408 Test Iowa assessments have been conducted – 2,692 in Marshall County.
