One new case of COVID-19 confirmed in Marshall County

One new case of COVID-19 was confirmed in Marshall County on Saturday, bringing the total count to 941. However, the number of recovered cases in the county has risen to 574.

Marshall County is in the top seven counties with the highest COVID-19 cases. The others are Polk with 5,077; Woodbury, 2,998; Black Hawk, 1,826; Buena Vista, 1,544; Linn, 1,014; and Dallas, 1,011.

Across the state, there have been 23,617 positive cases, a rise of 451 since Friday. Of the total, 14,309 have recovered. The case numbers on the Iowa Department of Public Health COVID-19 website are updated throughout the day.

The number of Iowans with COVID-19 in the hospital continue to decrease. There are 200 Iowans hospitalized with the virus, which is 25 less than Friday. Of Saturday’s total, 76 are in intensive care units and 43 are on ventilators.

Hospital activity is displayed by regions on the Iowa Department of Pubic Health website, coronavirus.iowa.gov. Marshall County is in Regional Medical Coordination Center Region 1, which has 70 hospitalized patients; six were admitted in the last 24 hours. Of the total hospitalized in Region 1, 18 are in intensive care units and 11 are on ventilators.

There have been 18 COVID-19 deaths in Marshall County and 650 statewide, a rise of eight deaths since Friday.

Across the state, 218,976 tests have been conducted. Plus, 682,824 Test Iowa assessments have been conducted – 2,498 in Marshall County.
