County tax and renewal deadlines extended

Deadlines for property taxes in the Marshall County Treasurer’s Office have been briefly extended further in response to the COVID-19 coronavirus outbreak to July 31. Gov. Kim Reynolds issued a proclamation that it will be the last property tax extension for March property tax payments.

Deadlines for vehicle registration renewals, vehicle title and license plates are set to expire on July 27.

“On July 28 the clock will begin on the 30-day window to title vehicles from the date of purchase and vehicle registration renewals that expired in January 2020 thru July 2020 will be due by Aug. 31 to avoid late penalty fees,” said Marshall County Treasurer, Jarret Heil. “These extensions have been a small piece of relief for our property and vehicle owners who have been financially affected by the COVID 19 pandemic.”

The Marshall County Treasurer’s Office is open to the public for walk-ins on the second floor of the downtown Great Western Bank in Marshalltown. This allows for vehicle transactions and property tax payments to be made in office.

Online payments can be made at www.iowatreasurers.org.

Payments and vehicle transactions can be sent by mail to Marshall County Treasurer, 1 E. Main St., Marshalltown, IA 50158.
