Dangerous thunderstorm headed for Marshall County

The National Weather Service has issued a warning about a severe and dangerous thunderstorm for Marshall County until noon.

Severe thunderstorms were located along a line extending from near Roland to Mitchellville to near Carlisle, moving east at 60 miles-per-hour.

The storm is producing 80 mile-per-hour wind gusts and quarter size hail.

Seek shelter. Move to an interior room on the lowest floor of a sturdy structure. Stay away from windows. Flying debris will be dangerous to those caught without shelter. Mobile homes will be heavily damaged. Expect considerable damage to roofs, windows, and vehicles. Extensive tree damage and power outages are likely.

Torrential rainfall may create flash flooding. Do not drive vehicles through flooded roadways.
