The National Weather Service in Des Moines has included Marshalltown in an area with possible severe weather on the way.

Numerous severe storms might occur with some being very intense.

It is possible storms and heavy rain will arrive Friday and last into early Saturday morning. This includes tornadoes, damaging winds and hail. The heavy rain could produce flash flooding.

Marshalltown has a 5 percent probability of tornado activity and 15 percent for both golf ball-size hail and strong winds. There is also a 5 to 10 percent risk of flash flooding.

If warnings are issued, residents are advised to seek shelter immediately.
