The renovation of the Veterans Memorial Coliseum is the running to be the People’s All Star Award winner through the Iowa League of Cities, and the city is asking for your vote.

The Coliseum is one of 16 cities in this bracket-style competition which puts pairs projects from around the state in a head-to-head competition on Facebook. Each week the city with the most “likes” or “loves” in their head to head match up will advance on until a winner is declared. The competition began Monday.

The Veterans Memorial Coliseum was heavily damaged in the 2018 tornado. Because of the generosity of more than 400 donors, the city was able to transform a 90-year old building into a brand new full-size gym with multiple flex spaces for recreational programming and public rental.
