Marshalltown man faces additional sex abuse charges
A Marshalltown man who was arrested on allegations of indecent contact with a child in December now faces an additional charge of second degree sexual abuse, a Class B felony.
According to a pair of criminal complaints, 37-year-old Gustavo Dominguez-Rodriguez allegedly performed a sex act on a victim under the age of 12 in August of 2021. He was initially arrested on Dec. 8 and held without bond in the Marshall County Jail. Bond has since been adjusted to $25,000 cash on the sexual abuse charge and $2,000 cash on the indecent contact charge.
A preliminary hearing on the indecent contact charge, which is an aggravated misdemeanor, is set for Jan. 28, and the initial hearing on the felony sexual abuse charge is scheduled for Jan. 31. Second degree sexual abuse carries a maximum prison sentence of up to 25 years.
