Motorcyclist critically injured in 10th Avenue crash

The Marshalltown Police Department is investigating a crash on North 10th Avenue that left a motorcyclist critically injured and required an air transport to the local hospital on Monday morning.

At 6:12 a.m., public safety personnel responded to a motor vehicle crash in the 400 block of North 10th Avenue involving an SUV and a motorcycle, and the driver of the motorcycle, 33-year-old Robert Kluck of Marshalltown, was reported as critically injured. Wyatt Rodriguez, also of Marshalltown, has been identified as the driver of the SUV, and according to the Iowa State Patrol, Rodriguez turned left in front of Kluck on North 10th Avenue and caused Kluck to hit the front right tire.

The Iowa State Patrol is assisting the Marshalltown Police Department with a technical accident investigation, which is ongoing. The Marshalltown Fire Department, UnityPoint Ambulance, JBS Security and the Marshall County Sheriff’s Office all assisted on the scene.
