A car show fundraiser was held to benefit the Iowa Veterans Home on Saturday afternoon in conjunction with the Valor Poker Run Freedom Ride — sponsored by Quaker Oats and CVMA 39-2 — from Cedar Rapids to Vinton to Gladbrook to IVH. Organizer Brooks Dechant said that despite the scorching temperatures, the event still raised a couple of thousand dollars and featured two food trucks, a live DJ and prizes.
