Conservation Photo Contest ends Jan. 31

CONTRIBUTED PHOTO Pictured is the 2022 People’s Choice winning photograph taken by Gary Pusillo.

There is still time to submit photos for the Marshall County Conservation Board’s Annual Photo Contest.

All entries must be emailed to mccb@marshallcountyia.gov titled Photo Contest by midnight on Jan. 31. In the body of the email state the category for the photograph(s), name, address, brief description of the photo (if they have multiples) and phone number. No photos will be accepted in person.

Photos need to be saved with the following title: Category name, Title of Photo (example John Doe Native Plants Beautiful Butterfly Milkweed). Entries, which should fit into one of five themes: Scenic (Natural Resources), Native Wildlife, Native Plants, Open Nature and Outdoor Recreation, are to be taken in Marshall County except the Open Nature category (for the open category it still has to be nature related but does not have to be taken in Marshall County) by amateur photographers.

The contest is open to adults and children. Youth 17 years of age and younger will be judged separately from the adult entries in an open category. Winning photos become the property of the MCCB and all entries cannot be entered in subsequent MCCB photo contests. Winners of each category will win a $20 gift card.

MCCB employees and their family members are not eligible to enter the contest. The week of Feb. 6-12, all photographs will be posted on Facebook. The photograph that gets the most likes will win a $20 gift card for being the People’s Choice Winner. Winners will be announced on the Marshall County Conservation Board Facebook page on Feb. 14. Winners will be mailed the gift card. For questions or more information call 641-752-5490 or email mccb@marshallcountyia.gov.
