Marilyn A. Hupfeld, 82, of Marshalltown, IA passed away Monday, January 11, 2016, at Iowa Methodist Hospital, in Des Moines, IA. Memorial services will be held at 11:00 a.m., Friday, January 15, 2016, at the Liscomb Church of Christ in Liscomb, IA. Visitation will be held from 5:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m., Thursday, January 14, 2016, at Anderson Funeral Home, 405 W. Main St., Marshalltown. Interment will take place in the Rose Hill Memorial Gardens in Marshalltown. Anderson Funeral Home, 405 W. Main St., Marshalltown, has been entrusted with arrangements. Marilyn A. Hupfeld, daughter of Leroy and Grace (Allen) Altemeier was born on August 8, 1933 at home in rural Liscomb. She attended high school in Liscomb, graduating with the class of 1950. She was united in marriage to Marlyn W. Hupfeld on August 14, 1955 at the Altemeier Home in rural Liscomb. Four children were born to them: Allen, Roger, Craig, and Kenneth. Marilyn earned her teaching degree from State Teachers College in 1952. Her first teaching job was in Dysart. Marilyn later went to Drake University, graduating in 1967. She then took the 1st grade teaching job at BCL school district where she remained for 30 years, retiring in 1994. She was a member of Bethel Grove Church, Liscomb Hobby Club and a dedicated Iowa River Hospice Volunteer.

Marilyn is survived by sons, Roger (Shirley Browns) Hupfeld, and Craig (Debbie) Hupfeld both, of Liscomb, IA; 1970-1971 Foreign Exchange Student, son, Ludwig Braun, of Switzerland; daughter-in-law, Marilyn Hupfeld, of Bondurant, IA; sisters, Lorraine Stueck of Dysart, IA, and Beverly White, of Altoona, IA; sister-in-law, Janet Altemeier, of Fort Dodge, IA; grandchildren: Chad (Heather), Amanda, Ryan, Callen, Coy, and Kendall; great-grandchildren: Allena, Olin, Star, Summer, Skylar, Sunny; several nieces and nephews and many dear friends.

Preceding her in death are her parents; sons, Allen and Kenneth; brother, Keith; and Marlyn, the father of her children.
