Funeral services for Travis David VanDeWalle, 25, of Marshalltown, were held Friday, Jan. 8, 2016, at Mitchell Family Funeral Home with Pastor Kerry Jech officiating. Travis was laid to rest in Rose Hill Memorial Gardens.
Pallbearers were Jared VanDeWalle, Zack Faught, Matt Pohlman, Derek VanDeWalle, Glen Rohrs and Doug Sokol.
Honorary Pallbearers were Jerry Pennington, Dale Franksain, Craig Eurom, Rod Eurom, Aaron Neal, Blake Neal, George VanDeWalle, Wade Raymond and the GMG Class of 2008.
Groups attending the services were from Iowa Veterans Home, GMG Class of ’08, GMG Class of ’16, GMG Staff, Toledo Pioneer, Theisens, Meskwaki Casino & Hotel and Jiffy Lube.
Mitchell Family Funeral Home was entrusted with the care of Travis and his family.

Travis David VanDeWalle, 25, of Marshalltown, passed away unexpectedly on Friday, January 1, 2016.
Funeral services for Travis will be held on Friday, January 8, 2016, at 1:00 p.m. at the Mitchell Family Funeral Home in Marshalltown. Public visitation will be on Thursday, January 7, 2016, from 5:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. also at the funeral home. Family requests casual dress for services. Memorials may be directed to the family. Travis VanDeWalle was born on March 18, 1990, in Marshalltown to Scott and Melissa VanDeWalle. Travis graduated from Green Mountain Garwin in 2008. After graduation, he attended Kirkwood Community College. Travis had worked for Pioneer in Toledo. He enjoyed being outdoors, whether it was fishing, hunting, boating or snowmobiling.
Travis is survived by his parents, Scott and Melissa; brothers, Derek VanDeWalle and Jared VanDeWalle, of Marshalltown; grandparents, George and Dolores VanDeWalle, of Fort Myers, Florida and Dale and Diane Franksain, of Marshalltown, as well as extended family and friends.
