Funeral services for Louis Henry Nolta, 96, of State Center, IA, were held Monday, September 12, 2016, at St. John Lutheran Church with Rev. David Klinge officiating. Mr. Nolta was laid to rest in St. John Cemetery.
Pallbearers were Andy Nolta, Jeff Kellen, Daniel Kellen, Joel Kellen, Marvin Coleman, Carroll Kusserow and Greg Smith.
Honorary Pallbearers were John Perlich, Kendra Kasischke, Bob Moore, John Maddick, Stan Robison, Herb Beer, Lenora Culhane and Roger Gray.
A group from Care Initiative Hospice was in attendance.
Mitchell Family Funeral Home was entrusted with the care of Mr. Nolta and his family.

Louis Henry Nolta, 96, of State Center, passed away on Tuesday, September 6, 2016, at Rolling Green Village in Nevada.
Funeral services for Louis will be held on Monday, September 12, 2016, at 10:30 a.m. at St. John’s Lutheran Church in State Center. Visitation will be on Sunday, September 11, from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. also at the church. Memorials may be designated to a charity of your choice. Louis Nolta was born on April 16, 1920, in State Center to Wilbert and Eleanora Smith Nolta. Louis graduated from State Center High School. Louis served his country honorably in the United States Army and was stationed in California during World War II. On September 17, 1941, Louis was united in marriage to Lornetta Kuhlman in Missouri, and they made their home on a farm in State Center. Louis was a lifelong farmer. He was a member of the American Legion and St. John’s Lutheran Church. Louis loved woodworking, gardening, traveling with Lornetta and when he was able, hanging out with his retired friends for coffee at Cissy’s.
Louis is survived by his children: Sandi Kellen, of Ames, and Stan (Nancy) Nolta, of State Center; grandchildren: Andrew (Jolene) Nolta, of State Center, and Jeffrey (Kim) Kellen, of Nevada; and his great-grandchildren: Gracey, Haley, Daniel, Joel and Eva.
Louis is preceded in death by his wife Lornetta; parents Wilbert and Eleanora; great grand-children Cora and Casandra, and son-in-law Dan Kellen.
