Jim is survived by his companion of 11 years, Mary Hawes of Marshalltown, Iowa, his 3 stepsons and his 3 sons, 6 grandsons, siblings Mary Lou (Lloyd) Weber of Dunkerton, Iowa, Frank R. (Betty) Needs of Laurel, Iowa, Betty Jean Glenn of Kingston Tennessee, Jon (Linda) Needs of State Center, Iowa and Jeff (Kim) Needs of Marshalltown; and several nieces and nephews.
In death James rejoins his parents, Frank and Bette Needs, and brothers, Michael F. Needs and George H. Needs II.
